I’m a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience in mental health nursing. But my journey into this work is more than just a career—it’s a reflection of my own personal story.
As a young immigrant from India, I faced the challenges of navigating a new culture while staying connected to my heritage. Balancing two worlds—embracing new opportunities while honoring my roots—taught me the importance of resilience, self-discovery, and the power of identity. These experiences shaped not only who I am but also how I approach my work as a psychotherapist.
My practice is rooted in compassion, empathy, and the belief that everyone’s story deserves to be heard. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where you can explore your identity, work through life’s challenges, and reconnect with what matters most to you. Together, we can uncover the strength you already hold and transform life’s obstacles into opportunities for growth and healing.
Kaur, a middle name rooted in Sikh heritage, represents a powerful declaration of identity, strength, and empowerment. In therapy, it serves as a means to explore and nurture one's self-awareness, inner strength, and personal empowerment. This journey plays a crucial role in developing resilience, affirming identity, and promoting overall well-being.
With over 15 years of experience as a mental health nurse and certified psychotherapist, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals across all stages of life. From children and adolescents to young adults and older adults, I provide compassionate, tailored care that meets each person’s unique needs.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in acute care, community outreach, and psychiatric emergency services, helping individuals stabilize during crises, transition back to their communities, and access vital resources. My experience has honed my skills in conducting risk assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing swift, empathetic care in challenging moments.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, integrating Compassionate Inquiry, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and holistic practices to address the root causes of emotional pain and foster growth. My work spans a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, trauma recovery, and life transitions. This diverse experience allows me to create personalized strategies that empower clients to rediscover their strength, resilience, and sense of balance.
